im a 13 year old kid and iv gone to a christian private school all my life and my life has always been fine but know im almost done with 7th grade and almost everyone in my class (we have a small school, there are only 10 people in my class) is wanting to go to public schools, only 5 people in my class including me have never been to a public school and i feel like im left out, like i have no friends because i dont have many friends outside of school and it's a small school. My parents are determined to keep me in a public school till college and I am a christian:) and i love my school but now everyone hates it and i dont really want to go to a public school anyway, i wouldnt fit in and i just dont know how to make myself feel better:( i feel like i have just realized how pathetic my life and i feel unlucky that i don't have the experience of going to a public school and like im like a whimp and like ugh! i justt dont know what to do anymore! my question is what should i do to make myself feel good about my life?

I'm visiting all the schools I get accepted to in during Spring Break, but lately I've been reading online reviews of colleges. And honestly, they all make the schools sound horrible. From a UCSD student (or former student) could you please give me advice? Honest, true, helpful insights that could make me understand the school better? How conservative is it in La Jolla? Open Question: Marijuana and the Buddha?
I'm having some difficulty seeing things clearly with this herb right now. I'm trying to become a Buddha and I know about the 5th precept and how intoxication leads to suffering. Marijuana isn't really a drug, its a plant. It does give you an effect that does technically qualify as being intoxicated but this "intoxication" almost helps me more than hurts me. And the Buddha did reportedly eat hemp seeds before his enlightenment. Why hemp? Was there a reason? So I guess my question iswell I need some good hard reasons why this plant is detrimental to my spiritual practice. Yes its an intoxicationof sorts but it just seems to go both ways most times. What is the real reason marijuana is bad from Buddhist perspective? But I would like to know it deeply. Not just because its an intoxication but what about this intoxication is bad and leads me astray? Maybe this is going to much into what is already said. about it being an intoxication but I feel like I need some good hard evidence for me to contemplate. Maybe list the positives and the negatives from a Buddhist view. And please don't go into legal issues with this like how crime rates went down when some country made it legal to use and how you think it should be legal. Only bring up the legal issue unless you think it being illegal creates bad karma when you use it. Keep it strictly between buddha and marijuana please! Thanks!
Open Question: Why would my unemployment claim be suspended?
I live in California and i filed for unemployment is September, got a telephone interview in November and they said they would contact me in 3 days if something didn't match up with the employer and 10 days for a decision. It is now March and still no notice. I emailed them and got a reply saying my claim has been suspended and i am required to reactivate it by doing a online application. Why would they suspend my claim? And why would they not notify me?? I also don't see why I need to do another application with the same information. This is my first time applying for unemployment. I was working for a company and received a notice saying i voluntarily quit, i obviously didn't but i guess thats better than putting on there i was fired. I had many problems with the company with discrimination and not receiving payments so i shouldn't' have been fired or whatever. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Have you had your claim suspended before you even get a notice of approval or denial. I'd like to know whats going on. It's like impossible to get a hold of EDD by phone. Please somebody help me figure this out. Thank you.

I am a year away from getting my BS at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. I love the school, I love the program, and I really want my diploma to be from them. My best friend and lover is working in Las Vegas, he loves his job, he makes good money, and he's really good at what he does. And with his work, he has to be in Las Vegas, there is no room for transferring. We've been best friends since junior high school, and over the years have grown in love. We want to get married eventually, but we both agree that we're still a bit young for that and want to wait until we're definitely ready. We both have a lot going for us, but we're miserable because we're so far apart. I'm still paying my own way through college, and don't have extra money to fly or drive down to see him very often. And he's very busy with work, and doesn't like cold weather, so he can rarely come to see, and prefers to only come during summer months. We make sure we see each other for holidays and birthdays, but the rest of the time is so hard without him. I feel like my school work is suffering because I'm always distracted with him on my mind. He's been telling me he's feeling really depressed having to work so much without having someone to come home to. I know I only have a year left, so it won't be so much longer without him, but I'm really not sure I'm able to go another year. I feel so torn, because I want to get my degree from this school, but I can't be so far away from him anymore. If I transferred to UNLV, or another school, it would take me 2 years longer, and cost a lot more because I would have to pay out of state tuition. No matter what I do I have to make a sacrifice, I'm just not sure which I should give up. I have no idea how military wives do this, they must be the strongest women in the world. I am going crazy not being able to kiss or hold or sleep next to him for months at a time. That was a very long explanation to a simple question; should I postpone my academic career to be with the man I love? I would really appreciate advice from someone who has been in a similar situation. I am almost 24, and would love to hear what someone a lot more experienced in love and life has to say.

Well when I went then totally ruined my hair! :'( Well They cut my bangs way to short after I told her to leave my bangs and she did my layers to short and thinned out my hair WAY too much! I'm going to college right now and currently my major is undecided. I was looking over Radiology PACS specialist, and it looks like something I'd be happy doing for the rest of my life. But honestly, I have some pressing concerns about it and thus resorted to Yahoo Answers to help me out. 1. How difficult would it be to get a job as a Radiology PACS specialist? Having a fancy degree in anything is only worth something if you can get a job to use it in. 2. What is the pay like? I've looked it up online, and several sites I've come across have said $45,000+/year, etc. One I found even said starting out with no experience atall (depending on the area of course) could get me started off at $57,000/year. I'm currently living with my parents while going to school, and my dad (being the only source of income in the house) makes just over $40,000/year and is able to support me and my brother just fine. We certainly don't do without, so having a job at that or better seems ideal to me. I'd appreciate the help or information anyone could possibly give me. Much thanks!

I had a really bad sinus infection the last couple weeks and took amoxicillin to get rid of it finally. Now a week later my throat is killing me when I talk, yawn or swallow only on the right side. I can feel it at back of my mouth, not really far down my throat. When I looked in the mirror, there are some bumps on the right and a dot at the back on the roof of my mouth as well. "" i found out he placed this ad just 2 hours after he dropped me off at the train station and kissed me goodbye. we had just had what i thought was a lovely 4 day weekend. he had given me card, thoughtful gift and stuffed teddy bear. taken me to a great dinner. i gave him hell and told him i love him but he is on probation right now with me i only found out because he replied to a friend of a friend who wrote him (there arent a lot of Catholic girls in his city = small world) anyway, since then i tried to get over it. we even spent another long 4 day weekend together last week. but now the friend of a friend he replied to finally forwarded me WHAT he wrote her a month ago. Open Question: How do I deal with my life -- when I feel SO badly about everything?
I am 35 and trying to handle how awful I feel about everything in my life. I am single and cannot get a proper date (therefore very lonely). My 'friends' aren't very good to me. I have medical issues that depress me and make me feel worthless. I have an awful job (which is ending so I will also be unemployed). I can no longer be creative or very physically active because of my medical issues. I feel that I can't handle anymore. What can I do? ** please don't say therapist. I can only help myself. No insurance and no money - and NYC doesnt care. :-(

Open Question: Getting MarriedIN LAWS DONT SEEM INTRESTED AT ALL NEED HELP?
So my boyfriend and I have been together for 3yrs now (know eachother four years this march) and we have two beautiful kids together recently we decided we want to get married, so were pretty happy and we want to try and do it all ourselves.. but his family doesnt seem to happy for us. I know we arent extrememly well off but were doing fine and love makes a marriage work not money, when i told his sister in law we were getting married her response was "how are you going to be able to afford that?", i was shocked because i was hoping for something along the lines of congradulations (mind you me and here dont really get along she is a few years older than me, but she has never given me a chance to get to know her but thats another story). I try to not let her get to me, since im not marrying her. His mother on the other hand she had me change the wedding date twice and i wasn't happy about it finally i said to my fiance it is my day i am not changing my mind and i am firm!, so we decided to get Married next march. My mom is happy for us and he helping for some things, but his mom her reaction is hurtful. for the groomsmen they are wearing nice dress shirts and dress pants cheaper but still nice. my brides maids are buying there own dresses but from sears *good prices* and i am getting a grad style dress for myself that is under 500.00. But no matter what ideas i have for our wedding she tries to cheap it down, i understand saving money but this is my day and my money, and her reaction everytime i bring up the wedding or plans in distant and unintrested AND LIKE it doesnt even matter to her at all, he is the baby in his family it should they only have two sons.. and its hurting my feelings yes call me petty if you like but i would love for her to take an intrest in our special day. everyone was over joyed when his brother got married they had a nice wedding in a church and a big hall nice meal etc.. but it seems like our special day means nothing to his family.. and its really hurtful.. what are some ways i can talk his mother about it and not feel so offended any advice would be helpful My fiance says he is used to beign treated like this but i feel like he should not have to feel like the black sheep, and i feel like you only get married once they should give us some respect. I am getting the feeling they dont want us to get married help
